Frequently Asked Questions

What is ScalpHelp?

ScalpHelp is a brand dedicated to keeping your scalp healthy, hydrated, and happy—especially while wearing protective styles like braids, twists, wigs, weaves, and locs. We offer lightweight oils and an innovative applicator device (coming soon!) to make scalp care easy, clean, and effective.

Why is scalp care important during protective styles?

Even when your hair is tucked away, your scalp needs care! Without regular attention, you can experience dryness, itchiness, buildup, and even hair loss. Scalp wellness ensures your hair grows strong, your styles last longer, and your scalp stays comfortable.

Can I use ScalpHelp Oils with any protective style?

Yes! ScalpHelp Oils are lightweight and perfect for all styles—braids, twists, cornrows, wigs, weaves, sew-ins, and even locs. They nourish your scalp without disrupting your look.

What makes ScalpHelp Oils different from other scalp oils?

ScalpHelp Oils are lightweight, fast-absorbing, and specially formulated to deliver hydration without heavy buildup. Packed with nourishing ingredients like castor oil, mango butter, sea moss, cayenne, zinc, peppermint and more, they refresh your scalp without leaving it greasy.

How often should I oil my scalp when wearing a protective style?

We recommend moisturizing your scalp 2–3 times per week for best results. Keeping a consistent routine helps prevent dryness, itchiness, and flakiness.

What is the ScalpHelp Device?

Our soon-to-launch ScalpHelp Device is a patented oil applicator tool designed to deliver oil directly to your scalp without disturbing your protective style. It’s perfect for reaching under braids, sew-ins, wigs, and tight parts.

Can I use the ScalpHelp Device with other oils?

Yes, although we recommend using lightweight oils like ScalpHelp Oils for the best performance and clean flow. Thicker oils may clog the device.

Will ScalpHelp products make my hair greasy?

Nope! Our formulas are designed to hydrate the scalp without making your hair or style oily. When applied correctly, they leave you feeling fresh, light, and itch-free.

Is ScalpHelp safe for sensitive scalps?

Absolutely! Our oils use gentle, natural ingredients ideal for most scalps. As always, if you have known sensitivities, we suggest doing a patch test first.

Where are ScalpHelp products made?

All ScalpHelp products are proudly made in the USA, supporting high-quality production standards and healthy hair care practices.

How can I stay updated on ScalpHelp news and product launches?

Easy! Sign up for our email list and subscribe to the ScalpHelp Crowned & Cared For Blog. You’ll be the first to hear about new products, scalp care tips, and special offers.

Can I use ScalpHelp Oils even when I'm not wearing a protective style?

100% yes! Healthy scalp habits aren’t just for protective styles. ScalpHelp Oils are great for natural hair, loose hair, locs, short styles—you name it. Moisture is always in style.

What if my scalp is super itchy right now?

Don’t scratch! Instead, apply a few drops of ScalpHelp Oil directly to the itchy spot using a nozzle-tip applicator or (soon) our ScalpHelp Device. Then gently massage the area with your fingertips to relieve itch and stimulate circulation.

Do I have to wash my hair more often if I oil my scalp?

Nope! As long as you’re using a lightweight oil like ScalpHelp Oils and applying it in small amounts, you shouldn’t experience heavy buildup. A gentle scalp refresh once a week should be plenty.

Will scalp oiling mess up my style?

Not if you use the right technique! ScalpHelp Oils are lightweight and designed for easy, targeted application without drenching your style. Our ScalpHelp Device will make it even easier to keep your style flawless and your scalp nourished.

Can ScalpHelp Oils help with tight installs?

While oils can’t fix a style that’s installed too tightly, applying ScalpHelp Oils can definitely soothe some of the tension and dryness caused by a fresh install. And always make sure you advocate for yourself when getting a style—comfort matters!
