Shameeka Brown, the visionary behind ScalpHelp, has dedicated her life to transforming the world of scalp care. Her journey is one of resilience and passion, driven by personal experiences and a deep commitment to helping others. As a minority female entrepreneur, a mother of three, and a breast cancer survivor, Shameeka has faced numerous challenges. Yet, she has turned each obstacle into an opportunity to innovate and empower. Her background as a licensed therapist and her dual master’s degrees in Social Work and Organizational Management have equipped her with the skills to create ScalpHelp—a brand that not only addresses scalp discomfort but also promotes self-care and confidence. Through ScalpHelp, Shameeka aims to share her journey and inspire others to embrace their own paths with courage and compassion.

I’m Shameeka Brown, the proud founder of ScalpHelp™—a brand born out of frustration, persistence, and love. Like many others who wear protective hairstyles, I struggled with intense scalp itching and discomfort. I tried oils, sprays, and scalp tools, but nothing worked without making a mess or ruining my style. That’s when I knew the industry was missing something—and I decided to create it myself.
What started as a simple idea turned into a multi-year journey of developing the ScalpHelp™ device—a patented, targeted applicator designed to relieve itch, deliver oils directly to the scalp, and preserve protective styles like braids, twists, locs, weaves and natural styles. It went through several versions and challenges—material issues, design limitations, and even setbacks with prototyping—but I stayed committed because I believed in the need. Along the way, I also formulated clean, nourishing oils to support the system and enhance scalp wellness.
ScalpHelp™ isn’t just about scalp relief—it’s about reclaiming comfort, confidence, and care for those often overlooked in the beauty space.
As a licensed therapist, minority female entrepreneur, mother of three, and breast cancer survivor, my life has taught me the power of purpose. Through my private practice, Innerpowerment, I help others navigate life transitions and heal—and through ScalpHelp™, I now bring that same mission of healing to the world of beauty and hair care.
